The HONDATA Jailbreaker temporarily bypasses the CAN gateway on 2020-2021 US-market Honda Civic Type R (FK8) models, allowing the ECU to be instant jailbroken using a compatible HONDATA FlashPro.

The device is only needed during the jailbreak process. Once the instant jailbreak is completed, remove the Jailbreaker and reconnect the vehicle's original CAN gateway.

Important Compatibility Notice

This Jailbreaker is NOT required for 2017-2019 US-market Honda Civic Type R models or any other vehicle.

This device is specifically required to temporarily bypass the CAN gateway when performing an instant jailbreak on a 2020-2021 US-market Civic Type R.

IMPORTANT – Instant Jailbreak Sold Separately

Purchasing the HONDATA Jailbreaker does NOT include the instant jailbreak service.

You will still need to separately purchase the HONDATA Instant Jailbreak and have a compatible FlashPro to complete the process.

The JAILBREAKER device itself can be reused on multiple compatible vehicles.

Installation & Jailbreak Procedure

1. Update FlashProManager to the latest beta version.
2. Make sure the ECU is not in recovery mode. If it is, return the ECU to stock and verify proper operation before proceeding.
3. Carefully pull the left side of the lower dash free from its spring clips.
4. Locate the factory CAN gateway near the white and blue connectors beneath the dash.
5. Unplug the factory CAN gateway and connect the HONDATA Jailbreaker.
6. Use your FlashPro to perform the HONDATA instant jailbreak.
7. Disconnect the Jailbreaker and reconnect the factory CAN gateway.
8. Reinstall the lower dash panel.
9. Drive the vehicle a short distance to allow any temporary trouble codes to clear.
