Plug-and-Play Flex Fuel Capability for Gen 6 Camaro

The SMG Camaro Flex Fuel Kit adds an ethanol-content sensor and vehicle-specific connections without cutting the factory wiring or modifying the original fuel lines. The system is fully reversible and uses OEM-style electrical connectors, application-specific fuel connections and a continuously braided harness for a clean installation built to last.

Once the sensor is enabled through proper tuning, the engine-management system can use measured ethanol content as part of the calibration. This allows a qualified tuner to build a flex-fuel strategy that adjusts for gasoline, ethanol blends and E85 without requiring the customer to drain the tank every time the fuel blend changes.

Tuning Is Required

The kit gives the vehicle the hardware needed to measure ethanol content; it does not activate flex-fuel operation by itself. A compatible calibration is required before using ethanol blends as part of a flex-fuel tune. Power gains vary with fuel content, engine combination, supporting modifications and calibration.

SMG does not provide tuning advice. Work with a professional tuner familiar with Gen V LT1 engine management and ethanol-content sensor configuration.

Installation

Installation commonly takes approximately 30 minutes for an experienced technician with basic hand tools, although vehicle condition and installer experience can change the time required. Product and reference videos are available in the media gallery.

Installation guides are reference material rather than a substitute for professional judgment. If the installer is not comfortable working with pressurized fuel connections or PCM wiring, professional installation is recommended.

Warranty

Professional installation is required for warranty validation. When installed by a verifiable commercial installer, SMG may provide lifetime coverage on SMG-manufactured components to the original purchaser at its discretion. Proof of professional installation is required, and components must be returned to SMG for testing before warranty authorization.

Performance Value

For a properly supported and tuned LT1 combination, ethanol fuel can provide additional knock resistance and cooling that allows the tuner to optimize the calibration. Actual results depend on ethanol percentage, engine setup, fuel-system capacity, weather and tuning quality.
