Type 2 to Type 2 EV Charging Cable 22kW · 32A · 5m
A heavy-duty three-phase Mode 3 charging cable for connecting Type 2 electric vehicles to compatible untethered Type 2 AC charging stations and wallboxes. Rated for up to 32A and 22kW, with premium copper conductors, silver-plated contacts and a flexible TPE outer cable for everyday home, workplace and public charging.
Up to 22kW Three-Phase
Rated for up to 32A three-phase AC charging when the vehicle, charging station and electrical supply all support the full 22kW charging rate.
Type 2 on Both Ends
Mennekes Type 2 connectors at both ends make it suitable for compatible Type 2 EVs and untethered Type 2 AC charging sockets commonly used across Europe and other Type 2 markets.
IP54 Weather Resistance
IP54-rated construction provides protection against normal dust exposure and water splashes for practical outdoor charging use.
Why This 22kW Type 2 Cable Stands Out
L1, L2 and L3 phase conductors are combined with Neutral and Protective Earth so compatible vehicles can use three-phase AC charging.
Current specifications list silver-plated connector contacts for a reliable electrical connection during repeated high-current charging sessions.
High-grade copper conductors provide the current-carrying capacity required by the three-phase 32A cable design.
The TPE cable jacket is designed to remain flexible while resisting the wear associated with regular handling, coiling and outdoor charging.
Manufacturer specifications rate the connector design for more than 10,000 plug-and-unplug cycles.
22kW Is the Cable Rating — Not a Guaranteed Vehicle Charging Rate
Actual charging power is determined by the lowest limit among the charging station, electrical supply, cable and vehicle's onboard AC charger. A vehicle limited to 11kW AC will still charge at no more than approximately 11kW even when connected with this 22kW-rated cable.
Built for Three-Phase Type 2 AC Charging
Complete Type 2 Pin Layout
The Type 2 architecture carries L1, L2 and L3 phase conductors together with Neutral, Protective Earth, Control Pilot and Proximity Pilot connections.
Silver-Plated Power Contacts
Current product specifications identify silver-plated contacts at the power interface for repeated charging use.
Carries charging-control communication between the compatible EV and charging equipment.
Supports connector and cable-presence detection within the Type 2 charging system.
Provides the protective-earth connection required by the charging circuit.
Confirm Both the Vehicle and Charging Station
The vehicle must accept a Type 2 AC charging connector. This cable is not intended for NACS-only or J1772-only vehicle inlets without the correct compatible adapter.
The charger must provide a Type 2 socket for a detachable cable. A station with its own permanently attached cable does not require this Type 2-to-Type 2 lead.
Verify the maximum AC charging capability of your exact EV. Many vehicles are limited to 7kW or 11kW even when connected to a 22kW charging station.
Insert the station-side Type 2 connector fully into the compatible charging-point socket.
Insert the vehicle-side Type 2 connector and confirm that the vehicle reports an active AC charging session.
Stop the charging session, unlock the connector, disconnect from the vehicle and charging station, then loosely coil the cable before storage.
The cable can carry up to 22kW, but many Type 2-equipped Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles are limited to around 11kW AC charging. Always check the AC onboard-charger rating of the exact vehicle and market version.
This is a Mode 3 AC charging cable. It does not replace a CCS2 DC fast-charging connector and cannot convert an AC charging station into a DC fast charger.

Quick Answers
Is this a Type 2 connector on both ends? +
Yes. It is a Type 2 / Mennekes to Type 2 charging cable for compatible Type 2 AC charging stations and vehicles.
Is the maximum rating really 22kW? +
Yes. The cable itself is rated for up to 22kW at 32A three-phase. The actual charging rate may be lower depending on the vehicle and charging equipment.
Will my Tesla charge at 22kW with this cable? +
Not necessarily. Many Type 2-equipped Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles have an AC charging limit of approximately 11kW. Check the onboard AC charger specification of your exact Tesla before ordering.
Can the 22kW cable be used with an 11kW charger? +
Yes, provided both ends use compatible Type 2 AC interfaces. The charging session will operate at the lower supported power level rather than forcing 22kW.
Can it work with a single-phase charging station? +
Yes. The current manufacturer specification states that this three-phase cable can also operate on a compatible single-phase Type 2 station, with charging power limited accordingly.
Is this cable suitable for U.S. NACS Teslas? +
Not directly. This cable has Type 2 connectors, not NACS. Confirm the charging inlet used by your exact vehicle and market before ordering.
Can I use it at a CCS2 fast charger? +
It is an AC Type 2 cable, not a CCS2 DC charging cable. DC fast-charging stations normally use their own tethered CCS charging connector.
Will it work at every public Type 2 charging station? +
It is intended for compatible charging points with a Type 2 socket that accepts a detachable cable. A station with its own tethered lead does not use this cable.
How long is the cable? +
The current specification lists a 5-meter cable, approximately 16.4 feet long.
Is it waterproof? +
The current product carries an IP54 rating. This provides splash and dust resistance for normal outdoor charging, but it should not be submerged in water.
What are the cable and contacts made from? +
Current specifications list high-grade copper conductors, a TPE cable jacket and silver-plated connector contacts.
Does the cable include charging-control communication? +
Yes. The Type 2 pin layout includes CP (Control Pilot) and PP (Proximity Pilot) connections used by the compatible EV and charging equipment.
How durable are the connectors? +
The current manufacturer specification lists more than 10,000 mating cycles for the connector design.
Is TÜV certification listed? +
The current manufacturer product specification lists TÜV certification. A certificate number is not displayed on the current public product page, so no additional certification scope is claimed here.
How much driving range does it add per hour? +
There is no universal range-per-hour figure. Actual range added depends on the charging power achieved, vehicle efficiency, battery state, temperature and driving conditions.
